I’m still alive!
July 31st, 2008

Playing catch up after comic-con before my vacation when starts tomorrow.  There’s an AWESOME interview with me that the iFanboy guys did at Comic-Con–it’s here:

iFanboy Interview!

Look around online for some cool stuff.  I may be everywhere or nowhere after this week.  I’m doing a Word Balloon interview tonight with John Siuntres which is always fun.

 Talk soon.  Enjoy the interview.

Oh, lord…
July 7th, 2008

Sorry for the huge delay in updates.  I had back-to-back cons with Heroes Con in Charlotte and Wizard World Chicago–so it’s been a bit of a whirlwind here.  Now I’ve got about two weeks until San Diego and I’m flipping out!

So, uh… I’ll be posting stuff more regularly soon.  Look for some big announcements very VERY soon, also–there’s very cool stuff on the horizon.

MARVEL ZOMBIES 3.
June 4th, 2008

marzom3_logo.jpg

I’ve had a ton of people emailing me, and asking on my message board what the deal is… why am I not writing Marvel Zombies 3?  Well, aside from thinking the “3″ in this logo looks like some kind of Siamese Cinnamon Bun it was simply time to take a bow and walk off stage.  I’m super happy with how the second series wrapped up and I knew when I was writing that series that I probably wouldn’t be returning.  Remember the final line of that series?

“They’re someone else’s problem now!”

Indeed they are.  If you want to see zombies from me you’ll just have to buy The Walking Dead (wink).

Now, the creative team of Marvel Zombies 3 is top notch, no doubt hand-picked by Joe Quesada as he keeps Marvel Zombies very close to his heart.  From what I’ve seen Fred Van Lente is a fantastic writer who we should be seeing much more from as the year progresses and Kev Walker is a superb artist.  So I, for one, will be purchasing this fine series at my local funnybook store come October and I recommend you do the same.

Although, I will say “MARVEL APES” just makes me shake my head.

INVINCIBLE 52.
May 27th, 2008

Invincible 50 will finally be out, I’m told, on… wait for it… JUNE 18th.

Sigh.

At this point that is a full six months later than the original ship date. That’s way later than we could have ever imagined. Anything that could have happened to delay this book seems to have happened and all I can really do is buckle down with Ryan Ottley and the rest of the creative team to make sure that we get this book on track soon, and prevent this kind of nonsense from happening again–until issue 100 at the earliest.

To that end, issue 51 is being turned in today. Ryan will be done penciling issue 52 this week. Climactic Cliff Rathburn has been brought on as an inker for a few issues and I’m writing 53 right now… with solid plots on 54, 55 and 56 on deck and ready to go.

As proof that we are trying to make things right–here’s a panel from page 1 of issue 52. Enjoy.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to get back to work.

FUCK YOU AMERICA!
May 25th, 2008

I hate to be so profane on my website but you know what… I just can’t help it right now. I just saw SPEED DAMN RACER.

speed-racer-logo.gif

It’s a movie so perfect, so well written, so well acted, so well executed, I thought I might die. It was that awesome.

It was so good, it made Matrix Revolutions good.

If I had a seizure from watching it–I would have sent the Wachowski’s a thank you letter–because I would have to see it again to watch the parts I missed during the seizure.

If it had started over and played again after the credits I would have had to sit there and watch it all over again… I wouldn’t have been able to force myself to leave.

I saw the movie with two friends and had either of them turned to me when the movie was over and said “Well, that wasn’t my favorite movie ever” I would have stabbed them.

If I had to pick a flaw in it, it would be that Christina Ricci didn’t come out of the screen and have sex with me. That’s the only flaw I can think of.

So fuck you America. Iron Man is AWESOME. Indiana Jones is also AWESOME… but neither are as good as Speed Racer. That’s just a fact. I have never in my life seen so many awesome movies in one month… and Speed Racer topped them all. Dear God, what an awesome movie.

I will be seeing it again tomorrow.

NO WEEKEND HOMEWORK!
May 2nd, 2008

I’m skipping Weekend Homework this weekend because of CAPE! in Texas which I probably should have told you about sooner.  Uh… I’ll be in Texas this weekend, come see me.

I’ll probably also skip it next weekend because I’ll be in Seattle at the EMERALD CITY COMIC-CON next weekend. So come see me there, too. I expect to see all of you at BOTH events.

In closing, I’d also like to add that the Iron Man movie is just as good as you heard it is–if not better. It’s awesome… if you’ve ever read a comic book before–you owe it to yourself to see this movie.

I did another interview.
April 30th, 2008

I did an interview for the website called www.geekscape.net that you can read HERE.

In the interview, the interviewer mentions there’s a bit of stuff cut out.  I thought it might be fun to share that with you here.  I should take this time to note that I am not in any way racist… we were all just joking around… about something as serious as racism… because we’re very insensitive people.  ENJOY!

 -Robert Kirkman

Formatting on the interview was messing up all over the place… so I’m just linking the word document… hope that works.
